Speeding, No Registration, No Insurance

On June 1, at 4:45 p.m., Dennis L. Newland, of Albany, was stopped on Bridgeman Hill Rd., in Hardwick. Police issued a pair of $162 tickets for No Registration and No Insurance.

On June 2, at 6:20 p.m., Courtney A. Judkins, of Hardwick, was stopped on S. Main St. in Hardwick. Police issued a $130 ticket for traveling 35mph in a 25mph zone.

On June 6, at 5:30 p.m., Brenden J. Beer, of Greensboro, was stopped on Wolcott St.in Hardwick. Police issued a $162 ticket for No Registration.

Vermont State Police

Cruelty to a Child, Retail Theft, DUI

On April 14, in Marshfield, the Vermont State Police began assisting Homeland Security Investigations and DCF with an investigation involving the welfare of a child. The child in question was in the care of Jodee Jernigan, of Barre. There were allegations of Jernigan intentionally having the child ingest a controlled substance. The child tested positive for a controlled substance. Jernigan is being charged with the crime of cruelty to a child. She was issued a citation, via her attorney, and is ordered to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, on July 22.

On June 1, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Troopers made contact with a vehicle and its occupants in Northfield, believed to be associated with a larceny investigation out of East Montpelier. Subsequent investigation found that one of the passengers, Louis Marsh, of Wolcott, had an active arrest warrant out of Morristown for Retail Theft. Marsh was taken into custody and transported to the Middlesex State Police Barracks for processing before he was brought to Washington County Superior Court Criminal Division to answer to his warrant. 

On June 5, at approximately 1:36 a.m., Troopers responded to the area of Vermont Route 14 in Calais for a report of a vehicle that struck a telephone pole and was stuck. An investigation showed Gabriel Riley, of Marshfield, had crashed the vehicle and was intoxicated. Riley was taken into custody and transported to the Middlesex Barracks for processing. He was issued a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court – Criminal Division on June 24 at 8:30 a.m.
