Kayak Lending Session on June 24

CRAFTSBURY – The Craftsbury Public Library is adding a small fleet of Tucktec foldable kayaks to their lending library. Designed to fold into a small space, these kayaks are easily transportable in any vehicle. These kayaks are available to adult patrons in good standing, who have signed a liability release, and learned how to assemble them.

There are two ways to learn how to assemble the kayaks. The Tucktec website has an assembly video which is linked in the library catalog records for the kayaks, or via the QR code on the kayak itself. Patrons can also try them out in person at the upcoming launch party at Little Hosmer.

The library will have a lending session between 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., on June 24, at Little Hosmer boat launch to see the kayaks, learn how to fold them, sign the liability release forms, and try them out on the lake. There are four Tucktec kayaks, paddles, and life vests available to use at the launch party. The kayaks are only intended for lake use, and are not suitable for river kayaking.

Two of these folding kayaks were purchased through the support of Concept 2, and an additional two kayaks were donated to the library directly from the company. For more information, contact the library at (802) 586-9683 or director@craftsburypubliclibrary.org.
