Second “Meet the Town Manager” Draws 60 Neighbors
by Helen Beattie, Community Journalist
HARDWICK – Hardwick’s second “Meet the Town Manager” meeting drew 60 citizens to Brochu’s pole barn on West Hill to talk with Town Manager Opie Upson. Nearly 100 residents have now gathered in two meetings to share a meal and provide input for Hardwick’s future. Attendees have been overwhelmingly positive about living in Hardwick. This week’s topics ranged from affordability, mental health, the swinging bridge replacement, Yellow Barn project, and restorative justice, to a call to strengthen community-based support and neighborhood networks.
The third meeting is Monday, June 20, at 5:30 p.m., at Atkins Field. While organized for Central Hardwick residents, any and all residents are welcome.
The fourth and fifth meetings are Wednesday, June 22, at Mackville/Brown Farm at Mackville Pond, and Monday, June 27, at East Hardwick, at the Grange, all at 5:30 p.m.
Meet the Town Manager is a joint effort of the Town and Hardwick Area Neighbor to Neighbor. For more information, call (802) 441-3301 or email hardwickneighbors@gmail.com.
