SMfG To Present Summer Concert Series
GREENSBORO – Summer Music from Greensboro (SMfG) has announced that it will resume its summer concert series this summer.
SMfG will open its current summer season with a concert by the
Horszowski Trio on Tuesday evening, July 12, at the Greensboro
United Church of Christ.
The Horszowski Trio, which has been described by The New Yorker as “the most compelling American group to come on the scene”, has become a force in the international chamber music world, giving performances that are “lithe, persuasive” (The New York Times) and “eloquent and enthralling” (The Boston Globe).
“We’re delighted to be able to present the Horszowski Trio in Greensboro,” SMfG trustees Day Patterson and Rick Lovett said. “These past two years have been particularly challenging years for
SMfG, as they have been for everyone,” they said. “SMfG had presented summer concerts in Greensboro every summer for 38 consecutive years prior to the pandemic and had a full slate of performing artists signed up and scheduled to give concerts for each of the past two summers, all of which concerts we had to cancel. So, we’re pleased that this summer SMfG can resume its concert series in Greensboro.”
