Books and Brews to Support Library on August 11

HARDWICK – “Books and Brews,” a benefit to support the Jeudevine Library, will be held on Thursday, Aug. 11, beginning at 4:30 p.m., at Front Seat Coffee. “Books & Brews” is a ticketed event (enter through Birdsong) with a $20 ticket covering entry, a donation to the Jeudevine Library, tea and coffee and a buffet of empanadas and sweets. The Jeudevine Library is collaborating with the Galaxy Bookshop, Birdsong Beer & Wine, and Front Seat Coffee on the first pages-in-the-pub-styled book recommendation event. Joining Galaxy Bookshop co-owner Sandy Scott on the panel are three local authors: M.T. Anderson (“Feed, The Daughters of Ys”), Daphne Kalmar (“Stealing Mount Rushmore,” “A Stitch in Time”), and Christine McDonnell (“Sanctuary, When the Babies Came to Stay”).
The panel of readers will give an overview of their favorite new books across a variety of genres. Order forms will be provided for guests to order from the menu of books offered by our panelists. A portion of the book sales from the evening will go to the Jeudevine Library.
Tickets are available to purchase through Birdsong Beer & Wine and the Jeudevine Library (cash or check only.) For information call the library at 472-5948.
