Harpist and singer Dominique Dodge will perform at the annual Folk Music Concert at Old West Church in Calais on Aug. 21.

CALAIS – The annual Folk Music Concert will be held Sunday, Aug. 21, at 4 p.m., at the Old West Church. The concert features harpist and singer Dominique Dodge who grew up in the White Mountains and now divides her time between New Hampshire and Cape Breton. Dodge has a passion for melody-driven dance music and responsive, rhythmic accompaniment, as well as for Gaelic songs, airs, and 18th century harp tunes.

The annual folk concert is organized by singer Deb Flanders in honor of her great-aunt Helen Hartness Flanders, an internationally recognized ballad collector and authority on folk music found in New England and in the British Isles. Joining Flanders and Dodge are multi-instrumentalist Pete Sutherland, fiddler Oliver Scanlon, cellist John Dunlop, violinist/fiddler Laura Markowitz.

Reservations are highly recommended by purchasing Seven Days Tickets.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Vermont Folklife Center’s program Young Tradition Vermont.
