Walden Home Lost in Morning Fire

The Colbeth home on Cabot Road in Walden was a total loss in a morning fire on Monday.

WALDEN – The Walden Fire Department was toned out at just before 9 a.m. on Monday to a structure fire with visible flames in South Walden at 666 Cabot Road.
The property is owned by Jerry Colbeth, who was not home at the time of the fire. The department responded with firefighters and apparatus, Walden FAST Squad members, and received mutual aid with apparatus and firefighters from Cabot Fire, Hardwick Fire Department, Greensboro Fire Department and Glover Ambulance.
The home was a total loss. The Vermont State Police and Vermont Division of Fire Safety were requested by Walden Fire Chief Jason Larrabee for an origin and cause investigation. Firefighters remained on scene to assist with the investigation and to suppress hot spots. The American Red Cross was contacted to provide assistance to the family.
