Grenkow Named New Library Director

Diane Grenkow

HARDWICK – The Board of Trustees of the Jeudevine Library has announced the hiring of Diane Grenkow to replace the retiring Lisa Sammet, who has been library director for the past 22 years.

Grenkow was previously the youth librarian at the Jeudevine for eight years and knows the library, the patrons, and the systems. Most recently she served as residency assistance librarian at Goddard College. She has also worked as an adult circulation librarian at the Kellogg Hubbard Library in Montpelier and as a bookseller at the local Galaxy Bookshop. As a community member, Diane has served on the Hardwick Restorative Justice Panel, the Hardwick Neighbor to Neighbor group, and the Hardwick Planning Commission.

She is in the final year of her non-residential Master of Science in Library Science at the University of North Texas, with the degree expected in 2023.

Her familiarity with the community and the library will ease the transition as the library enters a new era with an expanded building and new programming opportunities. Grenkow will assume her new position on January 17.
