Library Introduces Ebook, Audiobook Application

HARDWICK – The Jeudevine Library is introducing The Palace Project application (“Palace”) that makes accessing the library’s ebook and audiobook collections easier than ever. “Palace” brings together nearly all of the library’s ebook and audiobook collections into one simple application, where users can search and browse, check out items, and read, in just a few taps. For library patrons currently using Libby (which is still, and will continue to be available), they may check out “Palace” for additional books.

The “Palace” application will be useful to those who may not have tried ebooks at the library before because it is designed to make the process of borrowing an ebook simple. Once patrons download “Palace” to their iOS or Android device, a quick search brings up libraries and enter a library card barcode number and PIN, and are then able to browse all the titles of ebooks or audiobooks from the library’s collection, check out titles, and begin reading or listening.

“Palace” was created by a group of library leaders around the country who wanted to create an ebook experience that was focused on patron privacy, and equitable distribution of electronic content to public libraries and patrons. Visit thepalaceproject.org/ for full instructions on how to use “Palace.”
