Retirement Party Jan. 14 for Sammet
HARDWICK – To celebrate her many years of service and her much deserved retirement for Lisa Sammet, the Jeudevine Memorial Library will host a community party on January 14, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the Memorial Building.
For the past 22 years Sammet has been at the library for book recommendations, interlibrary loans, and general advice on a slew of other subjects. Above and beyond the daily interaction with patrons, Sammet built a vision for an expanded library and understood how a library with sufficient space can offer a community a critical public space that functions as a community center, providing services well beyond book lending. She has persisted in her vision and served as a critical component of the Jeudevine Expansion Project, which, after several pandemic-related delays, is at last slated to break ground in 2023.
There will be lots of finger food, music, laughter, cake, and a chance to say farewell to Lisa.
