Anne O’Connor, MD

MORRISVILLE – Anne O’Connor, MD, has joined the medical staff at Copley Hospital. Dr. O’Connor joins Copley as medical director of the Emergency Department replacing Dr. Liam Gannon who, after holding this position for many years, has decided to step down. Dr. O’Connor comes from the Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine where she served as assistant professor, and as attending physician in Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, positions she has held since 2016.

Dr. O’Connor received her medical degree in 2010 from the University of Minnesota Medical School. She completed her Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of North Carolina and Fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She is board-certified in emergency medicine through the American Board of Emergency Medicine as well as board-certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine through the American Board of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

“Dr. O’Connor brings over 13 years of medical experience to Copley. We are very excited to welcome her clinical expertise and energy into the leadership team,” said Copley CEO Joseph Woodin.

“Although I have worked in academic medicine for the entirety of my career, I have always loved community practice. My experience with community hospitals include Cottage Hospital and Alice Peck Day Hospital,” said Dr. O’Connor. “One of the first things that struck me when I visited Copley was the connection of the hospital and community. The impact Copley has on the community is significant. It is not only a full-service hospital, it is one of the largest employers in Lamoille County. Providers and staff are seen as trusted caregivers to the many families and visitors who come here for their care, tests or procedures,” continued Dr. O’Connor.

Dr. O’Connor and her family reside in Underhill along with their dogs and horse.
