A large audience attended the community meeting on June 13 to consider the future of Greensboro’s Lakeview Elementary School.

Mark Snyder explains the decorative woodwork of the railroad station built in the early 1900s during activities at the Greensboro Bend Park. He noted the men’s door as distinct from the women’s door (up the stairs on the right) because the women found it unpleasant to mix with the men as they waited for train arrivals.
The Rural Arts Collaborative held the first of several summer activities planned for the Greensboro Bend Park adjacent to the new rail trail. The activities on June 10 included a hands-on art program for youngsters and a tour and railroad history talk. Among the participants were Rural Arts Coordinator Lisa Wolfgang (second from left), and BRI (Bend Revitalization Initiative) members Jane Johns (third from right) and Nancy Hill (far right).
