On June 30, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Cierra Parkhurst, of Hardwick, called to report a crash that occurred the day prior on June 29, at approximately noon. Parkhurst advised she was traveling west on Wolcott Street in Hardwick in a Nissan Rogue. A vehicle stopped in front of her to make a left turn onto Cottage Street. Parkhurst stopped behind the other westbound vehicle and was rear ended by another vehicle. The vehicle that rear-ended her was a silver Toyota Rav. The operator of the Toyota identified herself as Colleen Mercier. Mercier asked Parkhurst not to call the police because she didn’t want to lose her license. Parkhurst later learned that Mercier did not have valid insurance on her vehicle, which is why she made the late police report. Hardwick Police is requesting assistance from the public to help locate Colleen Mercier. Please call (802) 472-5475 if you have any information.

On July 10, at approximately 9:47 p.m., Hardwick Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Rte. 15 E in the town of Hardwick. The truck traveled through the tree and veered off the westbound side of the roadway where it struck head-on into several medium size trees. Mercier was wearing his seat belt and the airbags deployed on the vehicle. Mercier received minor injuries and did not require EMS. Speed and alcohol were not factors in this crash. Mercier’s vehicle was totaled as a result of the crash.
