Hardwick Police Report
On July 15, at 11:45 a.m., police were notified of a two-car accident on Rte. 15 E and one of the operators was at the station. Michael Cricchi, of Greensboro, stated that he was stopped on Rte. 15 where the temporary traffic lights are when the van in front of him backed into his vehicle, a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The driver of the van stated no damage and no insurance and left the scene. Cricchi had photos of the scene and police were able to identify the other party as Melissa Blair, of Hardwick and her vehicle a 2016 Dodge Caravan. The jeep had damage to the front bumper and the Caravan had damage to the rear hatch. Blair received a ticket for no insurance and was cited into court for leaving the scene of an accident.
On July 16, at 12:03 p.m., Police were informed of an accident with injuries on Mill Street at the parking lot across from Buffalo Mountain Co-op. Upon arrival, there was a female on the ground identified as Carol Schminke of Hardwick. She stated that she pulled into the parking lot with her 2011 Subaru Outback. She had left it running but didn’t put it in park. The vehicle started moving and she attempted to stop it and fell. The car then ran over her leg causing injury. She was transported to Copley Hospital by Hardwick Rescue.
