On July 11, at approximately 7:42 p.m., the Hardwick Police Department received a report of a motor vehicle collision with a deer on Wolcott Street. Upon investigation, the deer ran into the side of Perry Hollyer’s motor vehicle and was deceased. Hollyer is from Hardwick. No injuries were reported.

On July 21, at approximately 9:52 a.m., the Hardwick Police Department received a report of a burglary that occurred at Hardwick Chiropractic. This occurred sometime after hours on July 20 or the early morning hours on July 21. Hardwick Chiropractic reported a variety of supplements, CBD oils, and an iMac computer were taken from the practice. Anyone with any information related to the burglary is asked to please contact the Hardwick Police Department.

On July 23, at approximately 8:33 p.m., Hardwick Police responded to a report of a domestic assault on South Main Street in the Village of Hardwick. Christopher Latuch, of Hardwick, was subsequently arrested for domestic assault. He was processed at the Hardwick Police Department and lodged at Northeast Regional Correctional Facility for lack of $1,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Caledonia Superior Court, Criminal Division, on Monday, July 24,s at 12:30 p.m.

On July 23, at approximately 7:31 a.m., Hardwick Police responded to a minor two-vehicle crash in the parking lot of the Quick Stop, which is located on the corner of Rte. 14 and Rte. 15 in the town of Hardwick. Mark Fletcher, of Hardwick, parked his 2021 Dodge Ram truck in the parking lot and went into the Quick Stop, Robert Mayhew, of Cabot was operating a 2019 Ford Escape. As he was driving through the parking lot, he failed to stop behind Fletcher’s truck. The front of Mayhew’s vehicle collided with the rear of Fletcher’s truck. The crash was captured on video surveillance. There were no reported injuries and damage to both vehicles was minor.
