Community Cider Pressing Sept. 23
EAST HARDWICK – The annual cider pressing will be held at the Caledonia Grange No. 9 on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. To 2 p.m.
Community residents should bring apples, containers, and muscle power for the apple grinder and cider press. There will be free apple fritters and hot dogs, and live music on the Grange porch.
Those who don’t have their own apple trees can pick up a map giving the location of roadside wild apple trees in the East Hardwick-Greensboro area. Maps can be picked up at the Civic Standard on Thursday, and the Hardwick Farmers Market on Friday.
For those who have a yard apple tree or two whose apples would be put to good use by someone without their own apple trees, they may help expand the map for next year. On Saturday at 11 a.m., at the Grange, there will be a quick tutorial on how to help crowd-source the locations of even more trees.
