That’s Nuts! Chipmunk Population On Upswing This Season

It seemed harmless, the pitter-patter of small feet scrambling over the pile of dried-out leaves, a reminder in the arid year we’ve had. An eastern chipmunk and I crossed paths in June as I took to the Champlain Islands, desperate to find a new recreation path to help me channel my restlessness from the pandemic into bright energy as opportunities to be outdoors became plentiful.
